Purity and Porn in a Sex Centred world: Part 2

It would appear that ‘people power’ and decent common sense is winning the day, at least in one matter, in UK Prime Minister David Cameron’s latest announcement to block online pornography by default in this country.

Mr Cameron today announced that,
” In the balance between freedom and responsibility, we have neglected our responsibility to children.”
Here here. The announcement is great news for the UK, and our stance as somewhere in the world that still values morality, character and care for our children.

Here in the UK, Mr Cameron announced today that households will now have pornography blocked by their internet provider, unless they choose to receive it.

In addition, the prime minister said possessing online pornography depicting rape would become illegal in England and Wales – in line with Scotland.

In his speech, Mr Cameron said family-friendly filters would be automatically selected for all new customers by the end of the year – although they could choose to switch them off.

And millions of existing computer users would be contacted by their internet providers and told they must decide whether to use or not use “family-friendly filters” to restrict adult material.

The filters would apply to all devices linked to the affected home Wi-Fi network and across the public Wi-Fi network “wherever children are likely to be present”.

Customers who do not click on either option – accepting or declining – will have filters activated by default, Tory MP Claire Perry, Mr Cameron’s adviser on the sexualisation and commercialisation of childhood, told the BBC.

The UK’s biggest internet service providers have agreed to the filters scheme meaning it should cover 95% of homes.

All of this is huge. If you read my recent post a few weeks ago, you will know that this issue is something I feel really quite strongly about, and rightly so.

It is a sad society which simply sits back and lets it children be corrupted and visually abused relentlessly everyday with little or no concept or conscious towards how this is affecting them in the present, and setting them up for turmoil and horrendous dysfunction in the future.

I can only say that I am thrilled at the PM’s announcement, it is a positive step in the right direction. However, there is much more to be done.

Children’s childhoods, innocence and purity are being eroded with rapidity and vicious ferocity like never ever before in history by the current status of ‘freedom’ which allows free and foolish access to all pornography online, no matter what or who. This decision and announcement today is a victory for not only common sense, but common decency, and moral wisdom.

As I wrote in my previous original post on this matter on 25th June, 2013, “Purity and Porn in a Sex Centred world,” I stated very openly and clearly where I stood and am coming from on this matter,

“My own personal view is that although the internet has been largely built by porn, it is time to fight back against this ugly damaging dark pillar in our society, and place restrictions upon it (or preferably ban it,) especially that which uses violence, by calling for greater action from giants such as Google, Yahoo and Microsoft. Pornography changes people’s attitudes towards what is normal sexual behavior and what is normal appearance, distorting perceptions of how a person should appear and behave. Sex is not something to be handled lightly, but its role in humanity should be explored and considered by each individual in depth, and should be treated with understanding and great respect.

I am very glad that our Prime Minister is indeed agreeing with this, taking a lead and taking this action, and acting as a good and responsible leader on this matter.

Our children deserve to be protected from the evil’s of this age for as long as possible. Maybe just maybe they can come to realize that there is in fact still some good left in this world.
It is great to see David Cameron taking this stand, not only as Prime Minister, but as a great Father. The kind our country and generation needs a lot more of.
