Father God is allowing all the trials and adversity right now ultimately to draw us closer to Him.
The Lord is alerting his people, grabbing their (our) attention, to get us to lean in to Him, WHOLEHEARTEDLY.
In our whole lives.
In our jobs.
In our families.
In our daily rhythms.
Everything.
Arguably, many people’s previous ways of living could not really be sustained.
If we do this, and lean in to Him wholeheartedly, we will stand before Him in victory, no matter what is thrown at us.
If we do not, we will not stand before him well on judgement day. Simple and as difficult as that.
Wholehearted love before Him is a massive big deal to God.
We are instantly forgiven at the new birth, but that does not mean we are walking in that first and greatest commandment for the rest of our lives.
The pursuit of wholehearted love for Jesus is the only SAFE place, not to mention the only true place of true spiritual and Biblical REST.
Wouldn’t you like some true safety and rest in these times?
This supernatural rest of God comes as we have an infusion of His love from time spent with Him, and an inner delight and peace in our relationship with Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and this in turn makes our yoke be LIGHT.
Amen to that.
It does not matter one iota in many ways, what you (or I) do, it’s how you do it, and who you do it for, that really deeply matters.
So whether you’re delivering babies, or delivering pizza, whether you’re raising children or raising your bank balance by property development or mortgage lending, caring for humans or any other job or career, this Monday and beyond, it really doesn’t matter, in some ways, to God.
Come as you are, and work wholeheartedly (or even rest wholeheartedly, if that’s the season you are in!) as for the Lord, and not for men.
Father God sees and Father God rewards.
Ultimately it’s all about drawing closer to Him. Whatever Monday holds for us.
Under His shadow we are safe from whatever storms come.
And when the sun shines, it’s all the sweeter.
